RAT. WEDDING. BOW.
RAT. WEDDING. BOW.
RAT. WEDDING. BOW.
Making my feverish brain slow down long enough to untangle itself from the circular mantra of ratweddingbowweedingratratbowratweddingrat is proving DIFFICULT IN THE EXTREME, but going with my first instincts here, I'm going to say Empty House (purely because it follows the Fall, lord knows what the rat refers to) and Sign of Four for the wedding, and His Last Bow for bow. There are other stories in which weddings and bows are mentioned, but I'm going with these because they're the biggish ones, and therefore the most likely.
But opinions? Theories? Conjectures? Uncontrollable weepings? There's lots of room for interpretation on this one, where there was absolutely none for the second season - it was perfectly obvious what woman, hound and fall referred to. But rat? My mind goes straight to the Giant Rat of Sumatra, which is ridiculous because that wasn't even a story.
My emotions are all jumbled up between AAAHHHHHH WORDS WE HAVE WORDS MOFFAT GAVE US WORDS and BUT WHAT DO THEY MEAN I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FEEL IF I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY MEAN and basically I'm just flailing and hand-wringing all over the place.
